There were 17 of us visiting this jewel in the countryside which is based near the West Stow Anglo Saxon village. It’s easy to miss the turning if you drive too fast. Some of the 17 were given the accolade of being ladies on the day! It cost £4.00 entry and if you are interested, they are always looking for volunteers to help maintain these beautiful gardens.

Beautiful weather, beautiful plants

We were blessed with good weather – bright sunshine but not too hot. The plants were gorgeous and so many different varieties and there were plants to purchase too (and most of us did)! There were plants for dry areas, boggy areas, with lots of plants you would recognise but some quite exotic looking specimens too.

Admiring the view

We all broke into little groups and meandered around the grounds – there were lots of places just to stand and admire the vistas.

After a while we made our way back to tea rooms where we had a good selection of cakes to choose from and took our refreshments to a lovely wooded picnic area.

See you at the next ladies’ event

We are sorry that not all ladies could come because of work commitments but were told that they will open on a Saturday for groups. So – if you would like to go at a later date when there will be many more different plants to look at, please get in touch.
