To be exact Bromley in Kent, Friday 4th June and yours truly and his beloved were at the CIC Headquarters in Bromley.
As a CIC Minister, every year we have an appraisal meeting a sort of friendly spiritual MOT, its good to have a review, check where you are at both as a person and in what you are doing, so easy as a Minister to experience burn out so it’s wise to get outside input and counsel.
Christina and I found the whole process beneficial and a real blessing. We decided afterwards to “have a mooch around”. As young people, way back in the early 1970s we would spend week ends up in the area as Christina’s Mum lived in Sidcup, Catford and Lewisham to name but a few.
On Sundays, we would visit the local AOG church in Masons Hill, Bromley, now known as BCC. We decided to call in and take a picture for old times’ sake, and we had a great chat with the present Senior Minister Mark Wilshire he told us all the exciting things that are happening in the church today with an out grown building leading to multiple services. Interesting to note that Dr Hugh Osgood who heads up CIC was once the Pastor @ BCC in the early 1990s .
We finished up with a meal in a VERY noisy Wetherspoons (well it was Friday night) and got caught up in flooding in the Blackwell Tunnel (nightmare) but a bag of toffees sustained us for the extended journey home, all in all a great day. If you are in Bromley please call at BCC or another great church is Cornerstone.
Enjoy the pics of 1970s Plumes and current shot of the oldies at BCC.
