Well it’s a brisk early start to the day at Ely railway station but great for this country boy to drive in the light, made it with just 2 minutes to spare “Ely to Kings Cross doors closing”.
Amazingly not too crowded till we get to Cambridge so I get a seat all the way. Quick walk to Tavistock Square and the BT Tower reminds me to tune in to God. Notes on the table and six lectures ahead but Dr Hugh Osgood holds our attention – it’s brain and soul food.
We break for coffee and plenty of debate and discussion the atmosphere is alive and buzzing before we know it, it’s lunchtime and some great sandwiches, I ‘borrow’ some for the journey home.
Three more lectures then it’s a run back to Kings Cross, check on the departures board and again I get a seat AND a table, yep a bit of luxury for the ‘Country Commuter’ who is reunited with his car at Ely for the drive back to good old Bury St Edmunds; arrive home to roast pork with crackling; perfect end to a great day.
See you next month.
