Happy Birthday to Ewe, Happy Birthday to Ewe, Happy Birthday Dear Ewe, Happy Birthday to Ewe.

Ok, so where is Bernie?  Did he catch the wrong train and end up on a sheep farm? Well no! I was in London and coming down a corridor at “Churches House” heard singing in the distance, getting closer I heard it better, the revised version is Happy Birthday to HUGH.

Yes, it was the 70th birthday of the incredible Dr Hugh Osgood and the class were in good voice. If you want to know more about Dr Hugh, visit here.

Hugh avoided the birthday bumps but he reflected on his life journey so far and then told us of his plans for the next 10 years.

…there is nothing better than knowing you are engaged in something that will last forever.

This impressed me as recently at 66 years of age I was starting to think I had done enough at the “sharp end”, but his challenge caused me to revaluate my life. Two things on my journey that day sharpened my focus. One, the statute of Sir Isaac Newton complete with compass…. Reminds me that I need to rightly divide Gods word, and let the Bible guide my life. Two, the former Victorian St Pancras station now a hotel reminded me that I must adapt to a changing world and be ready to change if I am to reach out to society, not change my truths or values but be wise, loving and current in the way I communicate them.

So, like Dr Hugh I am looking forward with excitement to the next 10 years. After all, there is nothing better than knowing you are engaged in something that will last forever.

Enjoy the pictures and see you again soon.
